This foggy sunrise elopement on Roan Mountain was everything we had hoped for. The sun hadn't come out yet so the entire overlook was enveloped in fog and turned the mountainside into something out of Outlander or Lord of the Rings. Clara and Jake got ready at the top of the mountain in the briskly 40-degree weather, after a short hike through the lush pine trees and rhododendrons from the Carver's Gap Trailhead.

They said their vows with two of their closest friends and their sweet pup Penny (who was such a good girl I might add!) 

​

After their ceremony, we took some photos on the top of the mountain and through the lush greenery and flora as we hiked back down to our cars and headed to their airbnb for breakfast!

​

The sun finally broke through the morning sky and made for a breathtaking view from their little cabin. They ate breakfast together, drank coffee on the porch and talked about music and great eateries to try in Nashville, and played cards until Jake lost (miserably) to Clara. Then the two enjoyed each other in the quiet moments before heading to Asheville to explore.

Clara and Jake are two of the kindest souls I've ever had the opportunity to work with. They're meant for each other in every sense of the word, and their elopement was a perfect way to capture the love they share with one another.
