This wedding was an absolute dream to capture. Lookout Mountain is a beautiful area as-is, but I loved getting to document Emma and Jamesen as they are. They put their heart and soul into every aspect of their day, and I'm so grateful that I got to witness it. As I've gotten to know them this past year, it's become increasingly clear to see just how easy Em and Jamie's love for one another is. I was able to document the small looks the two gave one another throughout the day, the way Jamesen fixed Emma's veil for her, the way Emma's eyes lit up even at the mention of his name. Their lives are filled to the brim with complete adoration for one another, and it was an honor for Ricky and I to be the ones to capture all the moments from their day.

The day started off with Emma, her mama, and the girls getting ready at their quiet Airbnb just a few miles from the church. The sun was shining through the windows and you could already tell it was gonna be a great day. After that, we all drove to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church for the ceremony. The girls finished getting ready there, and when Emma put on her dress, I almost cried.
Then we gathered Jamesen and the guys for some photos outside and the groomsmen, I'm sure, had fun tackling him. Once we were done, we got him and the guys back inside so as not to see Em before the ceremony. Then we had the girls come out for some photos in the courtyard as well as some family photos. Pretty soon, it was time for the ceremony!
At Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, once the ceremony starts, they ask that photographers stand behind the main congregational entrance and do not move or make noises (such as loud shutters) - which I think is so wonderful because it let all their guests truly be in the moment with Emma and Jamesen with no outside distractions, and I was still able to capture their most important moments from their ceremony including the cutest first kiss ever.
After their petal exit (which was such a vibe), we took some more family and group photos. Then their families left to be with the rest of the guests for cocktail hour. After we took their couples portraits - which were so dang dreammyy - we, too, made our way to The Lookout Mountain Club.
Once we got there, it was time for dinner, and cake? (Oh, yea, I forgot to mention, Emma and Jamesen got married on Emma's birthday!!!) Her mama and some other family friends decided to surprise her with a small birthday cake before the rest of the festivities.
After cake cutting and their adorable first dance, everyone took to the dance floor and put on their party hats for the rest of the evening to PARTY!!
Everyone finished the night with Em and Jamie's limousine send-off. It was a beautiful end to a very, very beautiful day.

How Did You Meet?​
​
During a college worship night a few years ago, Jamesen was playing guitar with some friends when Emma walked in. Emma immediately noticed Jamesen and smiled in his direction, and Jamesen responded with a look of terror. About three years later, Jamesen was given a “hint” by friends, Kate and Maddie, who had talked to Emma’s mom and told him she had always liked him.
When Jamesen heard he should “just ask Emma out,” he responded with “How did you know I liked her? I didn’t tell anyone!" He wasted no time messaging Emma on Instagram, and she promptly asked him to go on a walk with her and her dog, Stacey. After a few walks around the city that lasted well after dark Jamesen asked Emma to be his girlfriend. When Emma’s best friend Hannah met Jamesen after just a month she said “I can’t wait for you to get married to him because you will.”
How Did Jamesen Propose?​
​
Jamesen convinced Emma that all of our family was in town to look at potential venues and see our family church. Though Emma had some idea of what would happen, she had no idea it would be as beautiful as it was. Jamesen drove her to a beautiful park on Lookout mountain where he had set up candles and pictures from their many sweet moments together the past year. He popped the question, and her friends came out from hiding behind the rocks squealing and hugging each other. Jamesen and Emma went to grab a quiet moment together at cafe on the corner, and after arrived at a surprise engagement party at common house with all their closest family and friends!!
What's 3 Things You Like Doing Together?​

1. We LOVE backpacking.
We go about once a month, and almost every birthday and Christmas present to each other is new gear!

2. We love cooking.
He cooks, She bakes. Lately we’ve had a lot of sourdough bread and curry dishes!
