Why a Weekday Elopement is the Greatest Idea in 2022

Woohoo! You're finally engaged to the love of your life and now it's time for you to make decisions regarding your special day! Choosing a date is usually one of the first decisions to be made so you can move on to secure your vendors, choose locations, etc.

A weekday elopement is an incredibly underrated idea and I tell all my couples that if they can elope on a weekday, they absolutely should - and here's why:

Avoid the Crowds

Eloping in Colorado and Tennessee's backcountry or a National Park is an amazing idea for a number of reasons. The beauty brings people from all over the world to elope here. On your elopement day, not only are you competing for an epic location with other people who might also be getting married on the same day as you, but also locals who love to hit their favorite trails and spend their weekends in the mountains as well.

A weekday elopement will allow you and your lover to explore the beauty of your day while the majority of others are still at their 9-5 jobs, giving you the perfect opportunity for privacy and having those intimate moments just for the two of you (and your loved ones.)

Permit Availability

While there are many locations in Colorado and Tennessee that don't require permits, there are many, many popular locations that do. If your dream elopement is set somewhere like Rocky Mountain National Park, Sapphire Point, Great Smokey Mountains, etc. you will have a significantly higher chance of getting your permit approved for a weekday elopement.

Vendor Availability

Do you have a dream vendor team that you absolutely need available for your special day? Choosing a weekday elopement will give you a better chance of securing them all. As we all know, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are popular during wedding season and they book up quite far in advance. Choosing a Monday-Thursday date to say "I do" will help ensure that your day matches your vision.

Elopement Vendors to Consider:

Photographer

Videographer

Florist

Hair and make up

Personal chef/caterer

Lodging

Officiant

Budget Costs

Weekdays are not popular days to elope as the majority of people would have to take a day off of work (or more if they’re traveling from out of state). For this reason, many vendors offer discounted prices for weekday elopements. This is something to keep in mind if you and your lover are wanting to keep costs low. Even if you aren’t “on a budget” everyone loves a discount ;)

Can't Make a Weekday Elopement?

No Worries!

If you can’t elope on a weekday, don’t panic. There are still many ways for you to have an elopement day full of love, privacy, epic views, and all of the vendors you want, and minimal traffic.
